"I just want to thank you so much Ryan. It's just that It's really hard right now and I really need a place to stay, it must seem so rude to ask so much of you after not seeing you for all these years" he told me, I could tell he felt guilty for asking for so much. "I promise I won't cause any trouble, and I'll get a job as soon as I can to pay you back!" he added.

"Don't sweat it man! It's no problem, really" I continued to reassure him. "Besides, it's can get pretty boring around here, it'll be nice to have someone to hang with".

-----CHAPTER 2, CATCHING UP-----------------------

About a week has gone by since he showed up. Most days he went back and forth between here and his parents house to get his things, and in all that time he still wouldn't say the reason they kicked him out, and every time I drove him there his parents would give him glares of hatred towards him while he collected his things, it made my stomach sick and it took everything I had to not yell my head off at them for disowning their own son.

As he collected his stuff from his parents house he piled the boxes up in his room, strangely he never let me ever actually see what was in them. As he set up his stuff he kept on coming up with reasons why I couldn't be in there, like there was something he didn't want me to see.

It was finally Sunday, the only day off I got this week. Like every other day off I had nothing to do, nowhere to go, nothing. But now I was hoping I could spend today to catch up with Alex, we used to be the best of friends throughout grade school and I really longed for that kind of friendship again.

I walked up to his door, it was shut and probably locked like usually, I don't even think I got to see it since he got all of his things in there.

"Hey Al, you want to play some Smash like old times?" I asked as I knocked, that game used to be our favorite back in the day.

"I told you not to call me that!" He whined. I knew he hated being called that, for some reason he disliked that name, knowing this I would always call him that to mess with him.
