Feeling her lips against his own, Xander returned her kiss, as well as he could, pinned beneath her as he was, and delighted in the feel of her boobs, soft and sleek as roses, pressing flat against his chest. Before he'd regained his own soul, Spike had told Buffy that there was a darkness in her; that, as a Slayer, despite God's having called and empowered her, she shared a similar darkness of soul with him, a soulless vampire. The same was true with regard to Faith. As a Slayer herself, called to replace Buffy after Buffy's second death, before Willow's spell had restored Buffy to life, Faith also shared a darkness of soul with the foes she fought. There was a fine line between light and darkness, right and wrong, love and hate, good and evil. Sometimes, Faith straddled those lines. Even when she wasn't teetering on the edge, she was attracted to the bad as well as the good, and disease, disfigurement, dismemberment, and death were symbols to her of the great evil within and beyond the world of appearances which spoke mightily to her. She gave the eye socket a final lick before kissing the disfigured flesh and rolled off her pinned lover, lying beside him, wet with her own juices, sweating and panting.
