The New Housemate's Secret

"Thanks!" She says with a smile. You feel your knees go weak as she beams that smile at you.

"No problem." You reply. "Do you need help with your bags?" You ask, eager to win some 'brownie points' early on.

"Just the bags by the doorstep." She replies."I'll get my other bits tomorrow".

You quickly retrieve her bags from the doorstep. By that time she has finished drying her hair, and you notice that she has some red highlights in her otherwise dark hair. She throws you the towel, which you catch deftly. She looks at you carefully as if checking you out. A small smile lifts the corners of her mouth and her eyes sparkle.

"Anything you want me to do Rachel?" You ask. "Cup of tea, help you unpack..."

"Actually can you run me a bath?" Rachel interrupts "Unpacking is the last thing on my mind ".

You nod your head in agreement and escort her to the main bathroom. In it is a large bath and shower. You show how to operate the bath and shower.

"Anything else Rachel?" You ask with a innocent tone.

Does she need you for anything else?
Nothing for now. Fast forward a few weeks
Rachel looks from the running bath tub up to you. "I think I'll manage thank you". She replies with a smile.

You exit the bathroom, and you realise you have a silly grin plastered on your face.

"And to think I nearly got lumbered with that fat nerd from the Suburbs!" You say to yourself.

In the five weeks since Rachel moved in, to your delight the pair of you were getting along very well. She was an extremely smart, funny and beautiful lady who was a joy to be around. Her cooking was divine, and she fulfilled the chores promptly on the 'Chore rota' the pair of you had agreed on.

However there were things that seemed odd to you. The main thing in particular was the fact that she hadn't had a single person come visit her since she had moved in.
