But Robin and the doc would not let me eat a whole lot, and actually most of that lunch, save for a sandwich of some excellent beef on nice tasty thin wheat bread, was salad. I enjoyed it, and found that it was what I really wanted to eat, no matter how hungry I thought I was. When I asked the doc why that was, he smiled and let Robin answer.

“Mickie, just as you found out that you feel things a bit differently, so you’ll find that you’ll want to eat differently now. After all, you’re a woman.like me.”

And by gum, I was. I was a little bit shorter, so maybe I looked more feminine when we stood up, but I was just as much a sexy, good looking woman as Robin, although I did not resemble her at all. I smiled at her and winked, just a quick flirt. Damned if Robin didn’t blush a little and make a quick flick of her eyes toward the doc and a shake of her head as if to say, Not now!”

I don’t think the doc noticed anything, for after we had eaten and were drinking coffee, he got up and said,

“Now, don’t strain that aperture until tonight. It’s really healed, but if you strain it too soon it’ll hurt and maybe tear, and we don’t want that. Robin, I’m going back to town, so next time you need me, you know how to contact me. I’ll leave you ladies, now.”

He kissed Robin on the cheek, and I said, Well, how bout it, Doc? I’m a lady too, now.”

So he gave me a quick peck and was gone. I swear I saw him blush as he went past Robin.

“By the way, Mickie, June was here about a week ago.”

“Oh? How was she.and why was she here?”

“Well.do you remember when you told her you might want to stop at being a. chick with.

“.a dick, I finished for her. Yes, sorta.”

“Well, she discovered that you were not her cup of tea after all, when she saw you.”

“When she saw me? Unconscious?”

“Mickie, you weren’t completely unconscious the whole time you were recovering, you know.”
