Jennifer

She had given up a lot in the ten years, that she had been with my father. For him to continuously run around behind her back and cheat on her, was completely fucked up. I couldn't help but feel bad for her.
I was just finishing up in the bathroom, when I heard the words that I had been dreading, yet hoping for at the same time.
"Get the fuck out of here, now!"
Oh shit, I thought to myself.
"Pack your fucking shit, and get the fuck out of my house!"
"Are you fucking kidding me, Jennifer?"
"Do I look like I'm joking? I've had enough of your shit, Jim. If you loved me the way you say you do, then we wouldn't be having the same old argument, every six months! It's over...I want a divorce and I want it, as soon as possible."
So that was it, I thought; it was finally over. Unless dad fought against it, anyway. It would be within his best interest, to just agree and sign the papers. Why would he do anything less? Jennifer was right, if he really gave a shit about her, then he wouldn't keep cheating and lying to her all the time. If Jennifer divorced my father, she would be giving him what he wanted. Still, it bummed me out to know that this was where things had gone between the two of them. I sat in my room and listened, as they continued to argue and my father packed his belongings.
It was around 11:30 in the morning, when a loud banging sound came at my bedroom door.
"Michael, open up!"
It was my father...
I opened the door and there he stood, rage burning in his eyes, a bag full of his clothes, slung over his shoulder.
"We're leaving," he said, in a harsh tone. "Get your shit together."
"Do I have a say in the matter? I am twenty years old now..."
"You'd actually want, to stay with this bitch?"
"Don't call her that!" I snapped, angrily.
"She loved you! She always has, and you just keep fucking everything up for some stupid reason. What's wrong with you?"
We just stood there in silence for a moment, staring at each other for a long time. Finally, my father scoffed and shook his head, turning and walking away. "Stay, I don't give a damn."
I leaned against the doorway and listened to the sound of his footsteps, as he walked back downstairs and slammed the door, on his way out. I sighed and stepped out of my room, making my way downstairs and finding Jennifer, sitting on the couch.
