Gilding the Lilly

She is always careful to stay in the shade and she keeps that pale, delicious skin untouched by UV rays. Her glorious, golden hair changes, constantly; piled high on her head in a fantastic construction one time, while the next cascading over her shoulders and down her back in delightful ringlets and waves and then, the next, in a tight, severe, businesslike bun on the back of her head. She has been single for a long time, dating occasionally, but seemingly, not finding someone to settle down with.

Lilly and I spent lots of time on the phone, keeping each other up to date on all sorts of things going on in our lives. She has a wicked sense of humour and can keep me in stitches every time we talk. Lilly is very well educated and our discussions on many subjects are always animated and intellectually stimulating. I was surprised a few weeks ago when she called because she seemed much more subdued, than usual. She had met SOMEONE. Lilly was being VERY careful not to get too excited. She didn't want to get her hopes up too high. This guy, from her viewpoint, was almost a god. Beautiful, talented, educated, caring, helping, attentive; gee, can't blame her for being careful, I wouldn't want to scare that kind of Paragon away or jinx the budding relationship in any way. I am more into girls but this guy, just from her description, was making MY mouth water (and giving me tingles a LOT further South).

As the weeks passed, Lilly would talk of Simon a lot, but she wasn't being like a giddy schoolgirl (now THERE is a fantasy, that lovely Lady in a schoolgirl outfit), she was taking her time to make sure she was building a solid relationship. Lilly told me all about him; tall, trim (he was a gym rat and really ripped, from what she said; tummy flutters again), dark eyes, a Professional and well respected in his field. And Black. She was reluctant to tell me, not knowing what my reaction would be. Hey, I am Transgender, I get dumped on and discriminated against all the time, there is no way that I am going to be the slightest prejudiced at this late time in my life.
