Mai

I happened to stop at a house party thrown for an old friend the party was to celebrate his graduating from university. I was only there to make an appearance until I saw her standing in the corner with a beer in her hand talking to the host. She looked gorgeous as usual, she had had her hair cut into a bob, the black hair had streaks of blue in it and it looked good. You could see her long slender neck which was draped with a sterling silver eye of ra on a leather cord. She was dressed in a plaid mini skirt with black lace stockings and a pair of red sneakers that complimented her retro Culture Club shirt.
She was wearing some mascara and blue and green eyeliner that set off those almond shaped brown eyes, along with the ruby red lipstick that made her skin look even more exotic. It took all I had just to keep from walking over and shoving my tongue down her throat.
I played it cool for a bit as she made her way over to me to say hi. She leaned in and gave me a hug and said how nice it was to see me. I decided to live dangerous and kissed her on the cheek in a way that could be seen as two friends greeting but I whispered in her ear.
“Mai you look like a goddess tonight” She smiled and winked at me and took my hand and led me to a quieter place in the house.
At first it was just a catch up chat as she finished her beer. I was driving so I just had coke. But the entire time we spoke we just kept looking into each others eyes and smiling I (a good sign right), so I asked if she wanted to get out of there and go get a quiet coffee somewhere. She smiled and said yes. (score!) She asked me to leave first and pick her up down the block in ten minutes as her brother had friends here and she did not want either of us to have to deal with his bullshit. So I went out, checked my breath and had a mint and circled the block once then as I turned the corner there she was with a short red leather jacket on, completing the retro look.
Her presence filled the car and we were off to a great after hours coffee shop near where she lives and we sat and had a cup and some dessert as she told me about starting school and I talked about going back for my third year.
We made fun of Dave for his crazy schemes to keep us apart and tried to figure out why. Finally I laid it on the line took her hand and told her.
