the shelf where we keep all of our presciptions. She picked up a large
prescription bottle and said; "Honey, read what this says!" I focused my
eyes on the small print of the almost empty bottle (which was sitting
right next to an identical full bottle) that said: Estinyl (ethinyl
estradiol synthetic estrogen) - 2 milligram tablets. In a voice that
totally didn't understand what this was, or what she was trying to tell
me, I said, "And so.....what is this and what are trying to tell me?"
Then what she said floored me, "Do you remember all the fighting that we
were doing last year? Well, it started out because I was really mad at
you, but honey, it worked so well, that I just kept it up." I asked her,
"Just kept up what?" She said, "let's go back to bed and talk. There's a

and she remembered learning how sexual predators were sometimes treated
with hormone therapy to make them less agressive. Sharon did even more
