"Wait, my lord," he whispered. Magus Khan stopped and looked at his most trusted adviser, Ran Chi, seer and spiritual leader of the clan. "I think this one is different."

Ran threw one leg over the saddle horn and jumped to the ground. He squinted his eyes as he neared her looking passed his physical perception and into her spirit body. She took one step back as he approached and his eyes swept over her. Her hands became fists she held out in front. He slapped them down.

"Stand still, bitch," he commanded as he walked around in a circle examining her spirit body. Satisfied, he turned to the great Khan.

"This one is not a woman. She's a two-spirit person. I can use her if she's trainable."

Magus Khan had no appeal for a girl in a boy's body, but he understood Ran Chi was as different from a regular man as this defiant two-spirit girl was different from a regular woman. If there were no regular women around, Khan sometimes fucked the captured male victims before killing them just to empty his residual blood lust. But he had no true understanding of spirit ways. He respected them, but he left that business up to Ran Chi.

"Take him...her...whatever." He waved his hand, turned away and slowly rode around watching his men conclude their lustfest, bare asses bobbing in the air as they raped the weeping women.

Ran stood in front of the trembling two-spirit girl and gazed into her wide, brown eyes. Two-spirit girls were rare in clans that dominated the great steppes of Asia. When a seer found one, he often used her unique energetic configuration to enhance his purpose in clan hierarchy. The seer was the clan's connection to the spirit world and an important general in battle plans and overall life decisions.

"What are you called?" He asked towering over her. She trembled in his wide, tall presence. Ran's white hair and beard hung long and braided with beads and gem stones entwined throughout. She tried to speak, but her dry mouth moved without any sound. He placed his huge hand around her slim, delicate neck and squeezed.
