Building Pandora

On May 5, 2011, the last woman on Earth died. Panela Dora, who had managed to avoid contracting the bacterium, hanged herself in the very lab where she had first introduced the bacterium into her sister.

The final tally saw over 4,500,000,000 people dead. The entire female population of humans was gone. Millions of men died from the bacterium, although the Dora was tailor engineered for the female body, and thus by late 2011, the bacterium was where it belonged. In sharks, without a single trace left on the surface, especially after an angry horde of men stormed Dr. Dora's lab and razed it to the ground, destroying all traces.

Another year passed. Society limped on, as best it could, but even so soon, the population was dwindling. Due to suicides and mass starvation, the population of the Earth had dwindled down to a paltry 193,000,000 men, and falling.

Which is were I come in. Today is March 15, 2012, and today is my 18th birthday. I have lived without my mother for two years now, and my father died three months ago.

I live in Point End, a large city with a relatively low population in what I understand was once Charlotte, N.C.. I live in a large apartment building with several of my fellow survivors. As I said, the population here isn't large at all, and most of us in this building have whole floors to ourselves. I share a floor with my best friends, Ed and Sam. We each took four adjoining room and knocked the walls in between them down, giving us three huge apartments.

Having been young when the world ended, we really didn't have a scope for the hopelessness of our situation. We were old enough to understand what was going on, and while we knew that no women meant no future, none of us were particularly interested in girls when they first starting dying. But that was years ago, and since then, we have all grown.

Luckily for us, we were able to raid all of the best stores, and each of us had tricked out apartments that would be perfect. Would be, but for one thing. A girl to really make the room complete. Make the whole home complete. Hell, make the world complete.
