The Zodiac Coins: Libra

2400 YEARS AGO...

He was a humble shepherd. It was night and the flocks were sleeping.
As he gazed at the stars, he saw a shooting star. He knew it was a
portent of some kind, but was not mystic enough to know what. A
little while later he saw another shooting star and guessed that
whatever these portents were, they were for something either very
grand or very dire.

If he had been born in another time, he would've known that what he
saw was a meteor. Had he access to a telescope he might have
discovered that the two shooting stars were, in fact, one meteor that
had looped the Earth.

The shepherd knew only that a star had streaked through the drawings
that the gods had drawn in the sky. The drawings that would later
come to be known collectively as the Zodiac.

It was the day after my fight with my girlfriend, Lucy. My latest
fight, I should say. It's always the same thing, too. My girlfriend
is real insecure about her boobs. She's Chinese, and like a lot of
Asians, she has small boobs, maybe A cup, so every time I look at a
girl with big titties, she gives me hell.

Don't get me wrong, I love my girl and don't want some one else. And
being bisexual, if I wanted to cheat, I've got a wide range to choose
from. Hell, wouldn't even have to go any further than my roomie,
Jason, a bi black man who has made it clear that if I'm ever willing,
he is, too. So the option has been there, and I have never even
wanted to exploit it.

So on this fateful day, I get woken up by the phone ringing. I don't
bother with it that early, letting the machine get it, but I can't
sleep through it, so I was awake, lying in bed, when Lucy's voice
came from the machine, saying, "Scott, don't use the coin until we
get a chance to talk. I know it's your day off, so you can spend the
day in your apartment."

At the time, I had no idea what she was talking about but thought she
was real off. I mean not angry or any such thing, but she knew I
didn't like staying inside if I didn't have to. Little did I know.
